Welcome to the Wilson Community Center. The Center was originally established in 2001 through a successful grant application by the Wilson Elementary School District to the United States Department of Education's 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant. In 2005, the school district was awarded a five year grant by the Arizona Department of Education for the Wilson Community Center so that it may continue with its efforts in enriching and enhancing the lives of students and families living in its district.
One of our goals is to help the schools and teachers with student achievement. To help in this endeavor, the Center provides quality before and after school programs. Another key to student’s academic success is to increase parent education and involvement within our schools. The Center provides various classes, workshops and presentations for parents such as ESL classes, financial workshops, presentations regarding district and school programs, etc.

The Center collaborates with many organizations, community and parent volunteers to provide students and their families with opportunities they would not otherwise enjoy. With these collaborations, families are able to enhance their neighborhood and enjoy time together in a safe, healthy and fun environment. Some of these events include our annual neighborhood clean up, Fall Festival, Christmas Adopt-a-Classroom/Adopt-a-Family programs, Health Fair and, Make a Difference Festival.
Our goal is to make positive changes in the lives of our students, their families and their community. Therefore, it's incumbent that all school administrators, teachers, instructional assistants, students, parent volunteers, businesses and organizations work together as one to accomplish these goals. Only then can we truly make a difference!
