On September 15, 2020 the Wilson Governing Board voted to follow the metrics as recommended by the Arizona Department of Health Service to re-open schools. This means the district will not follow a set date to open and will instead follow the COVID-19 metrics as they apply to the Wilson School District. In order to re-open Wilson schools in a Hybrid model (some students learning in-person at school and some students learning at-home online through December) the benchmarks must be in the yellow/green or green/green for two consecutive weeks. We are focusing on cases per 100 thousand and the percent positivity and are following the recommended learning scenario.
As of today, COVID numbers are in green/yellow indicating the district is on target to re-open on Oct 12 if next Thursday (Sept 24) the numbers stay in the green/yellow or yellow/yellow. Each week, we will meet to review the most recent data for the Wilson School District. Please view the Wilson metrics every Thursday to stay current on benchmarks reopening of schools and the COVID-19 in the Wilson School boundaries. click here to view the district metrics
