Virtual learning is extended through December

Posted by Antonio Sanchez on 11/5/2020

Good Afternoon Wilson Families,

There has been an increase in COVID-19 cases across the county as reported by the Maricopa County Department of Public Health. The District has been committed to ensuring all students and staff are safe. The metrics for the Wilson School District continue to fall in the high-risk category. This means it is unsafe to return to in person instruction at this time and students should continue with distance learning. Because the overall risk level continues to fall in the high-risk category, we have decided to continue virtual instruction until January 4th, 2021. I urge you to view the Wilson website, in particular Thursdays, as this is where we will continue post updates regarding returning to in-person instruction.

Wilson's Data

I encourage you to stay in close contact with your student's teachers. It is critical that your student participates in daily learning. You can help your student's success by ensuring they are dressed and ready for school each day, logged onto the first class on time, and have an established space for learning that is free of distractions. If you need a student chair or desk, please contact the school.

If you have any questions, please contact your child's school.

Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we continue to make decisions that focus on the health and well-being of our students and staff.

Sincerely,

Antonio Sanchez, Superintendent

Wilson School District
